Chamoli Tragedy: PHC In-Charge Dr. Naveen Dimri Dies in Wall Collapse Accident

CHAMOLI (Uttarakhand): In a tragic incident in the Narayanbagar block of Chamoli district, Dr. Naveen Dimri, the In-Charge Medical Officer of the Primary Health Center (PHC) Narayanbagar, passed away following a painful accident on Saturday. The news of his sudden demise has sent shockwaves through the state’s health department and the local community.

The Accident

According to reports, Dr. Dimri was inspecting a damaged retaining/safety wall behind his residential building near the hospital premises on Saturday. During the inspection, the wall suddenly collapsed, burying him under the debris and leaving him with severe injuries.

Succumbed to Injuries on the Way to Hospital

Hospital staff present on-site immediately rescued Dr. Dimri and administered primary medical aid. Given the critical nature of his injuries, doctors referred him to a higher medical center via a 108 ambulance. However, he tragically succumbed to his injuries while being transported.

A Highly Respected Public Servant

Dr. Naveen Dimri had been serving as the In-Charge Medical Officer at PHC Narayanbagar for a long period. He was immensely popular among the locals due to his amiable nature, simple personality, and dedicated approach to patient care. Local residents recalled how he consistently worked to provide quality healthcare services even under challenging circumstances.

Condolences Pour In

Expressing deep grief, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Gupta confirmed the incident and termed Dr. Dimri’s untimely demise as an irreparable loss to the health department.

Local representatives and residents, including BJP leader Kamlesh Sati, District Panchayat member Surendra Kaneri, and local youth Sanjay Kandari, also expressed their condolences, stating that the region has lost a highly compassionate and dutiful doctor.
